NASDAB is managed by a Steering Group made up of representatives from Prosthetic Centres (Centre Managers and Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine), British Healthcare Trade Association, NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency, and the database manager ISD Scotland.
Data are collected on all new referrals from the 44 prosthetic centres across the UK. Demographic and clinical information is collected including cause and level of amputation. All the data in NASDAB is anonymised to protect confidentiality. Click here to view the NASDAB minimum dataset and a list of level and cause of amputation codes available within the dataset.
The Steering Group are continually looking to improve the data quality and, where possible, expand the data collected. The group is currently carrying out a feasibility study to establish whether information regarding prescriptions is available from centres and contractors across the UK.
